Annoucement...

I can't keep postponing to put our house in the market. My last dyeing day is July 9th. I can no longer accept any custom request including trim request anymore. We have to list the house soon and I need to pack up all my yarns and the rest of the house. I have stocked up for my July special stocking. I'm not sure how much I can dye during in the next few months but we have to see how it goes. I hope it will sell fast.

Stocking this month

It's going to happen tonight, March 10 at 10 PM EST at Knit Night congo.

One other news is we're preparing to list the house. It will take a while for us to pack because we just have too much clutter. It's going to take a month or two to list it. I'm not so sure how I'm going to do my dyeing, but we'll see. That will be the last I pack. Or I'll just put it somewhere but I won't be able to dye that much. I'm so sorry if I have to turn down any custom request. I'm juggling so many things at once at the moment.

I'm done with my table mats. I just haven't hemstich to remove it from the loom. Now I have to learn how to sew so I can sew the edge and cut them apart. The good news is I got an old leclerc loom for a steal. I haven't had the time to clean it up and put it together. I'm hoping to get the table mat off from the loom this weekend because I want to return the rental loom. I'm going to start my weaving again after I get my warping board/mill and maybe after packing.

My fiber arts journey continues

I've been wanting to try out weaving... have been waiting for the basic weaving class to open up. I finally picked up my rental loom and asked my friend to teach me how to weave since the class has been cancelled. There's so many things involved in the preparation before I can actually weave! I was surprisingly enjoying those tedious step involving sleying the reed and threading the heddles. Unfortunately I didn't have much spare time so I'm trying to weave a little bit every night.

I'm making dish towel or placemats. I'm not sure how thick it is. The yarn is only sugar and cream from walmart. I'm using 10 dent reed. The width of the loom is 18" and I'm using all of the space. Big mistake for first project.. LOL. I have to sley and thread 180 times! Well. Actually it's 178. For some reason I didn't have 180 slots. I'm almost finished with the first towel and I'm planning to make 4. RIght now I'm looking into getting a used floor room with at least 36". I want 8 shaft even though people said 4 shaft is good enough. I'm too lazy to buy and sell, so I want something won't outgrow me for a while.
