Handmade Christmas

Back to back blogging..

I also want to encourage you, my blogger reader to buy handmade as much as you can. Not only you are supporting work at home parents but be sure that you are buying items that come out from a lot of love in what they're doing. I know I can't buy 100% handmade but I am trying my best to at least give more than 50% handmade gifts this year.

October stocking

October stocking ended up to be a successful one. Thank you for all my customers for buying my yarns. The one that is unsold is one colorway, several handspun and one sock yarn. I know I'm taking a chance to have that in my store. However I managed to donate or trade some of the yarns. And now I only have 2 handspun left. We're going to have a second stocking of the month and I'd probably will try to stock one or two more.

True Colors Charity Event for the fall has generated more money than before. Thank you for Bella in Ireland, we managed to accumulate almost $80 to send to Red Cross.

The end of this month we will also participate in Celebrating Colleen at http://hyenacart.com/tinyladycooperative/. There will be hundreds of yummy fluff, wools and other items donated by a lot of awesome ladies that has been touched by Colleen one way or another. The event will run from October 28 thru November 4 2008. Please buy lottery and bid generously

August Stocking

I missed blogging about August stocking. I didn't have much time and I didn't take picture of all the yarns.
The stocking was pretty successful and there was only one that was unsold. Thanks everyone..
Actually 2, but I put the listing to expire within 3 days and I can't go back to change it because the stocking time has expire (we haven't paid for stocking).

If you're interested but wanting to buy only 1 skein, let me know and just buy it. I will send you an invoice. I can't change the stocking because it has already expire and I didn't want to extend.

Yarnoodles celebrating July birthdays

I feel that I have nothing to look forward to on my birthday. Some year is better than others but I feel indifferent. I am about to change that by having a stocking to celebrate my birthday and also I invited other WAHMS whose also sharing the same birth month. Though Christmas is few months away but start thinking about special projects you want to make for your loved ones..

Stocking tomorrow at ElevenThirty Congo

Third stocking is going to be set for tomorrow at http://hyenacart.com/eleventhirty. I won't be offering too many yarn becuase I'll be stocking in my own store in a week or so. Here's some sneakpeak for the tomorrow's stocking. I still haven't taken all the pictures yet. I also want to take pictures of all the yarns I've been dyeing in the last month or so including the ones that has been previously dyed too... However this is going to be the last big stocking for a while because I need to start with Christmas project soon.

Been busy knitting

I've been busy knitting for the last.. ugh, a couple weeks, and now dyeing too for the next stocking. The ElevenThirty congo stocking is earmarked for Friday, July 11th. Everything is dyed and also for the special stocking which is on July 22nd (I think). I need to wash some of them and reskein, lots of work.. and also take pictures. Spinning has been in the backbone, so I need to pick up my wheel again after I've washed, reskeined and take pictures for the Friday's stocking.. Meanwhile, here's what I have done so far:

Charity Auction

Yarnoodles decided to participate in a True Colors charity auction event sponsored by Lori (Beneath the Rowan Tree). It will begin on June 18 thru June 22. Here's the excerpt of what this is about:

This is a non-competitive event, intended to showcase the many and incredible ways three simple colours can be creatively presented when in the hands of an artist. Crafters working in various fibers and materials are working to create unique pieces based on the colorway (group of three colors) chosen by the users of the Hyena Cart Forum. That means every pair of hands will work with the same three colors to produce something amazing! After all, that is the wonderful thing about color~ the possibilities are endless.

There will be 25 dyers displaying their items.

New Hyenacart Store

I gave in.. I decided to get my own hyenacart store after all. Here's the link:

There's nothing in there yet, and I missed the window to update/configure the store a little bit for free. So now I have to pay for stocking so I can update some more. I might bite the bullet and do that near the June's ElevenThirty Stocking. I will move unsold items from the congo to here. I might add some more stuff too when the mood strikes.
